Is Life Trying to Stress You Out? Don’t Even Trip! ;-)

Have you ever had one of those days where you feel like EVERYthing is going wrong? Then you proceed to get overwhelmed and start wearing your emotions on your face (fault 1)? From there you proceed to curse yourself in your mind (fault 2) and assume that the remainder of the day will go downhill. One or two more things go wrong and you convince yourself that it is OFFICIALLY a bad day and the devil is trying to get to you…so you subconsciously start muffling negative things under your voice like “this is the worst day ever!” or “What else do I have to deal with today?” And etc (fault 3).  At that point you have gone too far and the only way to redeem yourself, your mind, your sanity, AND the rest of your day is to rebuke that negativity mustering up in your spirit and attitude…Shift your mindset!  Take control of YOUR day! The day God gave you and only you.

So let me tell you about MY day…

The last 24 hours I’ve had a bad feelings and just kept praying under my breath throughout the day as things started to happen (looking crazy probably lol). Bad things just kept happening.

  1. I got several emails that frustrated me and couldn’t do anything about it
  2. My manager was in a bad mood and took it out me for no reason
  3. My teammate made me late for my flight and I had to sprint to my gate when we got to the airport.
  4. From there it was too late to check in my bag…so I had to toss out all of my liquids over 3 oz that I LOVE (lotions, soaps and etc),
  5. Then the TSA guard kept pestering me about how big my  [now] carryon bag was (20 minutes before my plane was about to leave)…I had to hurry and remove some stuff and then jump+sit on my bag for it to meet the size requirements)
  6. I finally make it to my plane (last one to board) and then found out that I had no internet on my 4 hour flight (which sucked because I promised to send something over to my manager and team during my flight)

So as you can see…My day was NOT going well at all.  It took me up until to 30 minutes into the flight to finally WOOSAH and check myself.

  1. “WHY AM I STRESSING?!”
  2. “WHY AM I FRUSTRATED?”
  3. “WHY AM I TRIPPING?!”

None of the things that happened were in my control!  So I took a breather….prayed and gave God thanks…prayed for Him to heal my mind and help me keep a Christ-like mentality. From there I just put a smile on my face, put on my gospel tracks and opened my laptop and proceeded to work on what I was supposed to send out (even though I couldn’t send it at that moment).

Guess what?  I still made my flight. I made it home safe and in one piece. I plugged my laptop up at home and sent what I had send to my managerand team…and then I reordered my lotions! Lbvs

The point of me telling you this is because I ALMOST let life get the best of me.  I ALMOST allowed the devil to take the joy in my day and steal my peace.  I ALMOST allowed him to ruin my mood and the way I interacted with people.  It wasn’t until I 1) SHIFTED my mindset, 2) PRAYED to God…the creator of my days, and 3) got OVER it.

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you” (Isaiah 26:3).

Don’t allow the devil to steal your peace.  The Bible says Satan is a thief that comes to steal, kill and destroy. HOWEVER, Jesus tells us “I came that you might have life and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). The devil is NOT the one in control of your present and your future.  Check your spirit and pray to the source to renew your strength and restore your peace. You can still have the victory right in the middle of trouble.  So, every time the devil shows his face, don’t ignore him. Look at him and say, “All right, devil, get back on your side. Stop breathing down my neck dude…GET OFF MY BACK (Don’t nobody have time for you or your foolishness devil)!  Get under my feet because you are already defeated!”

When you are in the Will of God, no matter what comes your way, it is for your good. God has a way of taking our problems and troubles and turning it around to work for your own good.  “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them” (Romans 8:28).

So here I am…at the end of my day…all tasks accomplished…peace and joy restored….not only that…the holy spirit lead me to stay up long enough to blog about this in hopes that my situation would help you who have had similar days!

God is just SO AWESOME! Don’t underestimate his power :-).  He loves you like crazy and will do anything for you when you keep your mind on him.
